John MacArthur and Lakeland

Unfortunately there are no bible teachers who have international credibility who are speaking out about the Lakeland Revival at the moment (at least I have searched the Internet and not found any). I have previously posted a quote from John Piper’s reaction to the Toronto “Blessing” which seemed to also apply to the Lakeland “outpouring”.

John MacArthur is another internationally known Bible expositor who hasn’t said anything (that I’ve seen) about Todd Bentley or Lakeland but I have found two very important quotes that are apt to the Lakeland “Revival”:

Here are two things he has said about the Bible and signs and wonders

“Sound, biblical doctrine is a necessary aspect of true wisdom and authentic faith. The attitude that scorns doctrine while elevating feelings or blind trust cannot legitimately be called faith at all, even if it masquerades as Christianity. It is actually an irrational form of unbelief.” —John MacArthur

1 Corinthians 14:33 reads “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.”. MacArthur says: “God is not the author of confusion. Where pandemonium rules, we can be sure God is not the author of it” —John MacArthur
